The view of the mountains from Calgary always struck me as something surreal, here we are 80km away and they just seem painted onto the horizon line.
In my opinion, in terms of green-space one of the nicest places to be is the U of Calgary Campus in the summer (everyone else’s lawn is usually brown most of the year.) |

And speaking of Brown, many of Calgary’s historical parks seem to be very brown. Here a picture of historic Heritage Park, where they’ve taken old buildings from around the province and set up a little town.
If you happen to be in town on a weekday afternoon and can’t find a bank that’s open, and you look around and there are tellers pulling each other around in red wagons, don’t worry it’s only Stampede Week! Which begins on the weekend of our Wedding, this year. |
